World Renowned Scientist Dr. Ann de Wees Allen Joins Agel!
April 20, 2007
Agel is pleased to announce that renowned scientist Dr. Ann de Wees Allen, Chief of
Biomedical Research at the Glycemic Research Institute, has joined the Agel Team.
Dr. Allen and Agel Enterprises will be introducing products that incorporate Dr. Allen’s Larginine patents and Agel’s cutting edge “Suspension Gel Technology”.
Dr. Allen has been researching and patenting safe forms of L-arginine since 1983, and
currently has the only technology for creating Blind Amino Acid Riders for L-arginine. Dr.
Allen also received the first glycemic patent ever awarded worldwide.
Agel began operations in 2005 and has announced business operations in 43 countries.
“Our Suspension Gel Technology combined with Dr. Allen’s products will open a whole
new vista of opportunity for Agel Team Members globally”, said Glen Jensen, Agel CEO
and founder.
Because this opportunity has presented itself so quickly, Agel has not had time to
develop a product that combines Dr. Allen’s patented L-arginine and Agel’s suspension
gel. For this reason, Agel will begin offering Dr. Allen’s L-arginine as a powder in order to
fill present product demand while it develops a gel based product to replace the powder.
Once the gel based product is finished development, it will be available to team
members worldwide.
Dr. Allen stated, “I am thrilled to be working with Agel. Together, we will make a real
difference in the field of nutrition and anti-aging.”
Dr. Allen will also serve as Head of the Medical Advisory Board at Agel.

Vitamins and Minerals - Agel's MIN
STATEMENT
Vitamins and Minerals are essential tools in everyday human physiology. They function as coenzymes and cofactors that are involved in almost all biochemical processes in the body. In essence, vitamins and minerals are crucial to healthy living.
Before the days of “fast food” and “empty” calories, these vitamins and minerals were found naturally in our food. However, in modern days, as the average diet consists mostly of processed, manufactured food, there is overwhelming scientific evidence to support the intake of dietary supplements that are rich in vitamins and minerals [1-5].
Agel MIN is a proprietary formulation of vitamins and minerals that provides 100% of the RDI (Recommended Daily Intake) of almost all the essential vitamins and as much as 50% of the RDI of most of the essential minerals. More importantly, the bioavailability of these vitamins and minerals is enhanced due to the revolutionary gel technology employed in the MIN formulation. The vitamins and minerals are either dissolved or suspended in the gel, resulting in immediate availability for absorption by the digestive tract. In addition, the minerals used in the formulation of MIN are Albion™ Chelates. Albion Laboratories, Inc. is the world’s major producer of patented amino acid chelated minerals. Albion’s patented chelation processes bind minerals to amino acids, markedly increasing their bioavailability.
There are some who advocate using mega doses of various vitamins, presuming that if some is good, more is better. However, there is growing scientific evidence that too much of a good thing can be harmful [6-7]. Therefore, Agel’s formulation for a moderate dose of readily available vitamins and minerals is ideal.
MIN: StaMINa and Ageless Zest
Agel™ MIN is the Gelceutical™ designed to nourish your stamina and deliver zesty health. MIN contains required daily levels of 12 essential vitamins and high levels of 11 essential minerals. MIN helps you get more energy from your food, and then stores these energy reserves to provide stamina. In addition, MIN’s essential vitamins and minerals sustain of over 5000 vital biofunctions to deliver vigor, drive, well-being and ageless zest.
MIN Health Benefits
StaMINa™
Stamina is defined as the complete physical and cognitive energy required for an active lifestyle. Unfortunately, many people lack stamina. They seem to “walk into a wall”. MIN contains 12 essential vitamins and 11 essential minerals to maintain your stamina. Increased stamina is obtained from MIN by providing essential nutrients that 1) generate stamina energy from food and 2) create an efficient biochemistry throughout the body.
StaMINa Generation
Vitamins and minerals are closely involved in the processes of converting food into energy. They are cofactors of enzymes that efficiently generate biochemical energy from carbohydrates, fats and proteins in the diet. Increased efficiency equals increased energy.
StaMINa = Energy Reserves
Trillions of biochemical reactions take place every second within the body to maintain vigor, wellness and gusto. Every biochemical reaction requires energy. Essential vitamins and minerals work with biocatalytic enzymes that minimize the energy necessary for each biochemical reaction. Multiply trillions of reactions over thousands of seconds each day equal substantial energy reserves. These energy reserves provide stamina. Therefore, vitamins and minerals save energy — helping the body biochemistry to run efficiently. Stamina is the result of efficiency.
Ageless Zest™
Regardless of age, the body should feel zest. Zest is a drive to live, feeling vim & vigor, and a state of good health regardless of one’s chronological age. Ageless Zest is a composite of thousands and thousands of properly functioning biochemical reactions within the body. These biochemical reactions allow over 5000 functions within the body to maintain overall health, vigor, vim and vitality. Ageless Zest may be associated with vision, joints, bones, teeth, hair, smell, taste, hearing, touch, immune functions, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal, nerves, brain, muscles, tendons, cartilage, hormones, reproduction, pregnancy, respiration, coordination, etc. Falling levels of any one or more essential vitamins or minerals can create instabilities with some of the over 5000 functions – resulting in loss of zest, drive, spirit and vivacity. MIN’s essential vitamins and minerals help maintain necessary micronutrient levels to ensure stability of over 5000 biofunctions. Ageless Zest is A-Z health.
Who and When
MIN is recommended for healthy adults, teenagers, children and athletes. Consume MIN at the same time every day. Consume one Agel MIN packet a day. Endurance athletes may consume a second MIN packet for stamina.

Need More Enegry?
STATEMENT:
The fast–paced environment of everyday living is stressful and at times overwhelming. Lacking the nutrients to provide both sustained energy and that “burst of energy” often needed, modern diets frequently require supplements to fill the gap.
Agel OHM, is a blend of vitamins, minerals, and herbs that complements a proper diet and regular exercise to support the body by providing the “extra energy” required to meet everyday demands. It does not rely upon chemical stimulants like caffeine or ephedra. Rather, it looks to a B–complex vitamin–based formula that acts as a coenzyme to facilitate the body’s own metabolic processes required to convert carbohydrates into energy. Panax Ginseng is included, a strong antioxidant helping the body to resist stressful influences. Panax Ginseng has also been associated with beneficial effects on motor performance, cognitive behavior and overall Quality of Life. Likewise, OHM contains Rhodiola rosea to help improve physical endurance and mental performance, and to reduce stress-induced fatigue in humans. Schizandra, grown in China and Korea is another premium herb found in OHM, used historically and today to help improve concentration, strength, stamina, endurance, and alertness, without causing nervousness like caffeine related stimulants.
Although nothing can replace a healthy diet and regular physical activity, Agel OHM may be an excellent source of additional energy during a stressful day.
Agel OHM Benefits
Agel™ OHM is the Gelceutical™ designed to boost your energy when you are feeling tired, fatigued or lazy. An added benefit of OHM is to provide focus when you are lacking motivation or stressed by life’s circumstances. Therefore, OHM can be summed up in 2 words: 1) energy and 2) focus.
Health Benefits
Energy Increased energy is obtained from OHM by providing key nutrients that either 1) generate more energy from your food or 2) are direct sources of energy to the body. The first category (helping to generate energy from food) is a collection of water–soluble B–vitamins. Focus Ingredients
Schizandra fruit
mdash; In China, Schizandra fruit, Schizandra chinensis, is known as wu–wei–zi meaning “five taste fruit” (sweet, salty, spicy, sour and bitter). Schizandra is a nutritional food source in Asia where people eat a couple of dried berries every day to enhance their energy levels. Traditional use of Schizandra in China helped build wei–chi, the defense energy of the body to resist infection. Scientific studies demonstrate its use to rebuild liver tissue, help improve work performance, build strength and reduce fatigue. In China, berries are chewed for 100 days to improve physical coordination and mental concentration. Schizandra berries enhance oxygen usage, thereby improving overall endurance during times of stress, study and work.
Ginseng root
Ginseng root, Panax ginseng, has been used for millennia in Asia as a tonic for health, long–ife and vitality. Ginseng research shows cognitive benefits, immune health and reduced signs of stress. Ginseng improves cognitive performance, secondary memory performance, speed of performing memory tasks, attentiveness and auditory reaction time. Korean Ginseng supports immune system health by increasing antibody levels (the guardian soldiers of the immune system) and increasing activity of natural killer cells (the exploding bombs of immune system). Ginseng helps reduce signs of stress by increasing accuracy of attention–priority tasks, facial recognition and improved social functioning. Ginseng helps you focus by supporting mental concentration, enhancing learning and by maintaining consistent, long–term health.
Rhodiola root
Rhodiola, Rodiola rosea, grows in the northern portions of Europe and Russia. Rhodiola root “possesses a clear anti-fatigue effect without any reported adverse reactions or side-effects when used in a situation of moderate levels of fatigue and stress”. Rhodiola helps reduce signs of stress, enhances physical work & endurance, and helps to minimize the effects of fatigue “under nearly realistic work situations”. Rhodiola increases beta-endorphins (helping you relax and feel good) and neurotransmitters by nourishing the cerebral cortex, brain stem and hypothalamus.

Agel's Antioxidant - EXO
STATEMENT:
EXO is the proprietary exotic antioxidant formula in our initial product offerings. Antioxidants are substances that help prevent cellular damage in our bodies. Our body has its own process of repair, but with the stress of current life-styles and the increasing amount of pollutants in the environment, we may need some extra help. Ideally, we can get most of the antioxidants we need by eating fruits and vegetables, essentials of a healthy diet. However, in today’s fast —paced world we sometimes replace fresh fruits and vegetables with less than ideal choices. Therefore, enhancing our less than optimal diet with an exceptional antioxidant supplement may be extremely beneficial.
EXO is a powerful blend of 14 different unique whole fruit purees and plant extracts from around the world, each with its own unique properties. This distinctive formula contains 14 potent botanicals that each when tested individually was found to have a very high total antioxidant capacity. Now imagine, the extraordinary benefit of EXO, a highly concentrated gel, made up of not one but 14 of these antioxidant-rich fruits and plants. In independent testing, EXO’s antioxidant capacity as determined by an oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) rating was found to be quite extraordinary.
Optimum health requires adequate nutrition. Adequate nutrition involves balance, moderation and variety. Scientific literature suggests that the intake of a varied selection of antioxidants is much better than taking high doses of just one or two antioxidants. Since EXO is a highly concentrated gel containing a variety of antioxidant–rich botanicals, the multifaceted benefits of this formulation are truly unique.
Ingredients: Dark Grape, Cranberry, Bilberry, Aronia, Blueberry, Pomegranate, Aloe Vera, Para Guava, Noni, Acerola, Wolfberry, Açai, Ashwaganda, and Rooibos
Agel EXO uses:
Agel’s EXO™ gel will help you delay signs of age–related declines. Aging causes natural declines in your mobility, coordination, memory, vision, skin, hair and health. These signs of aging often lead to persistant health conditions. This exclusive Gelceutical™ blend of 14 all–natural fruits helps you age gracefully — slowing down the visible signs of aging.*
The Need
The NeedSigns of age-related declines originate with every breath of oxygen. Oxygen is the major source of harmful free radicals. Ironic that life-giving oxygen also causes signs of health declines with advancing years. Oxygen free radicals have an unstable, single electron (versus stable, paired electrons) enabling them to chemically alter lipids, proteins, carbohydrates and even DNA. An oxygen free radical “attacks” a biomolecule by “stealing”s one electron, thereby changing the “good biomolecule” into a reactive free radical, but restoring oxygen to a stable state. Continual creation of biological free radicals damages cells and tissues – leading to the visual signs of aging.*
Aging is a 24/7 declining process resulting from alterations to our normal biochemistry within every cell of the body — free radical aging. Free radical aging results in less–responsive cells. The life-extension capabilities of the cell are weakened when sections of DNA experience free radical damage. Changing in DNA coding alters the biosynthesis of proteins and enzymes that maintain normal cell functions. This is why aging is such a slow, continuous process.*
The Solution
Agel’s EXO gel formulated with 14 exotic all–natural fruits and fruit extracts, each containing a wide–variety of antioxidants. EXO abounds with over 200 distinct antioxidants to shield, quench and repair the broadest spectrum of biological proteins, membrane lipids and nucleic DNA free–radicals. EXO is your greatest biological shield against the signs of age–related declines.*
Agel’s EXO GelBenefits:
- Combats signs of age–related decline*
- Supports youthful vision & recognition*
- Maintains normal joint mobility*
- Helps control youthful coordination*
- Boosts immune function activity*
- Enhances feelings of youthful energy*
- Supports healthy cholesterol levels already within the normal range*
- Guards healthy urinary tract health*
- Shields the body from harmful free–radicals*
- Reversing age–related losses in short–term memory*
Agel’s EXO Features:
- Patent pending Gelceutical™ enhanced-bioactive technology
- Over 200 natural antioxidants
- Antioxidant BioShield™ antioxidant and immune activity
- Antioxidant Recharging™ system*
The Mechanism
EXO’s antioxidant spectrum slows down signs of age–related decline. Regular consumption of EXO releases an active army of antioxidants in your bloodstream. EXO antioxidants work in two ways to minimize signs of aging — through EXO’s Antioxidant BioShield™ and through its exclusive Antioxidant Recharging?. EXO’s Antioxidant BioShield technology guards against free radical damage to both water-soluble and fat–soluble biomolecules. The Antioxidant BioShield is very protective due the variety of natural antioxidants within EXO’s 14 exotic fruits, including: flavonoids, proanthocyanins, anthocyanins, phenolic acids, polyphenols, carotenoids, vitamins, and essential minerals. EXO?s Antioxidant BioShield™ minimizes free radical bioactivity and repairs free radical damage to cellular DNA, lipids, proteins and enzymes. Agel’s Antioxidant BioShield also places the immune system on “surveillance alert” via active fruit polysaccharides against foreign invaders.*
Antioxidant Recharging™ is Agel’s exclusive formulation technology that regulates antioxidant bioactivity. For example, in the process of repairing a free radical–damaged biomolecule with the vitamin E antioxidant, vitamin E becomes “deactivated” as an antioxidant. With Agel’s exclusive Antioxidant Recharging™ system, the deactivated vitamin E is recharged by vitamin C. The resulting water–soluble, “deactivated” vitamin C is readily eliminated from the body following the recharging process. Agel’s EXO contains many examples of coordinated Antioxidant Recharging. EXO’s exclusive Antioxidant BioShield™ and Antioxidant Recharging™ provides you the best bioprotection against signs of aging — 24/7.*
The Ingredient
The exotic antioxidant-rich fruits in EXO represent the best berry and fruit sources from around the globe. Blueberries from the lush Pacific Northwest of USA, Dark-skinned grapes from Europe and North America, Cranberries from quiet waters of Northeastern USA, Bilberries from rich lands of Northern Europe, Aronia chokeberry from forests of Central Europe, Pomegranate from Persia and Mediterranea, Aloe vera gel from the arid Mexican plains, Noni fruit from mineral-rich Polynesian shores, Para guava from South America, Acerola cherry from Brazil , Wolfberries from China and Southeast Asia, Acai berries from Amazon rainforests, Ashwaganda from depths of India, Rooibos herb extract from Africa. These selected fruits are ranked highest in ORAC rating ? a rating of antioxidant bioactivity.*
Açai
Açai (a-sigh-ee) (Euterpe oleracea) is considered to be one of the most nutritious fruits of the Amazon rainforest. It contains Vitamin B1 (Thiamin), Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin), Vitamin B3 (Niacin), Vitamin C, Vitamin E (tocopherol), iron, potassium, phosphorus and calcium. It also contains the essential fatty acids Omega 6 and Omega 9 (these are the healthy fatty acids), and many of the essential amino acids, with a protein profile similar to an egg. And, that is just for starters. What makes AÁai unique is that is very rich in anthocyanins, which are very potent antioxidants. In fact, this amazing fruit contains 33 times more anthocyanins than the red wine grape.
Anthocyanins as a class of nutrients are important in their ability to help prevent atherosclerosis (clogged arteries), and generalized cellular damage caused by free radicals in the body. They are considered to be very helpful in the anti-inflammatory process, and may even help to lower LDL cholesterol (the bad cholesterol). In addition, they play an important role in neutralizing dangerous carcinogens.
Açai is an amazing fruit with many health benefits. But, what is truly amazing is that it is only one of the14 different exotic fruits and herbs contained in Agel EXO, each of which are loaded with health enhancing nutrients.
Acerola
J Acerola (Malpighia glabra) is a fruit resembling the bing cherry that is believed to originate from the Yucatan peninsula in South America. Some of the largest plantings in modern times are in Brazil. It is one of the richest known food sources of vitamin C, and it is for this reason that this fruit has played an important role in South American herbal medicine. In addition, it has carotene content comparable to that of carrots, and is also a good supply of magnesium, and several of the B vitamins; niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B1 (thiamine), and vitamin B2 (riboflavin).
Vitamin C is a nutrient that must be supplied in the diet. It has many biological functions, including the formation and maintenance of collagen (the primary protein of skin and connective tissues), healthy maintenance of the liver and adrenal glands, and it is a powerful natural antihistamine. However, one of its most important roles is that of an antioxidant and its ability to help the body fight physiological stress. Our environment is filled with external stresses and pollutants that put our bodies under extraordinary pressure to maintain health. We are much more prone to infection and disease in our metropolitan environments and the intake of extra vitamin C can serve as an excellent adjunct to healthy living.
Some of the common ailments for which vitamin C is being taken in our modern society include: allergies, atherosclerosis (clogged arteries), bronchitis, cancer prevention, colds and flu, glaucoma, and skin wrinkles.
Acerola is loaded with many important nutrients, and it is an important component of Agel EXO. It contributes synergistically with the other 13 exotic fruits and herbs to create a supplement with exceptional health-enhancing properties.
Aloe Vera
Aronia
Aronia (Aronia melanocarpa) is a shrub that is native to the northeastern part of the United States. It produces clusters of small dark purple berries that are also known as “black chokeberries.” It has close botanical ties to the bilberry and the cranberry in that is contains high levels of anthocyanins and flavonoids, both of which are very potent antioxidants. It has been reported that the aronia berry contains over five times greater levels of these compounds than the cranberry.
Antioxidants are so important in our modern day–to–day living as we are constantly being bombarded with oxidative stresses. Antioxidants are substances that prevent cellular damage by acting as scavengers and neutralize free radicals by donating electrons to these electron–deprived compounds. The body has its own mechanisms for dealing with free radicals, but they can be inadequate, particularly with the added stress of current life–styles and the increasing amount of pollutants in the environment. For optimal health, it is therefore necessary to complement these processes with antioxidants from our diet. Fortunately, antioxidants are abundantly present in fresh fruits and vegetables, which are an essential part of a healthy diet. However, as we substitute the intake of fresh fruits and vegetables in our diets with other “empty” calories, the need to take food supplements rich in antioxidants becomes increasingly important.
The Aronia berry is just one of 14 different exotic fruits and herbs contained in Agel EXO that is loaded with these important antioxidants.
Ashwaganda
Ashwaganda (Withania somnifera), also known as “Indian ginseng”, is a small evergreen that comes from the drier parts of western India, northern Africa, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. It is related to the tomato plant of North America, and all of its parts, including its roots, oval leaves, showy yellow flowers, and red, raisin–sized fruits are used medicinally in various cultures. It is considered a major herb of the Ayurvedic system of health and healing which has been practiced in India for more than 2000 years.
Ashwaganda is an adaptogen, which is a substance that non–specifically enhances the body’s ability to resist disease, revitalize and increase performance. In India, this herb is celebrated as an adaptogen that will do the following: boost strength, increase stamina and relieve fatigue, strengthen the immune system, speed recovery from chronic illness, soothe and calm without producing drowsiness, clarify the mind and improve memory, and slow the aging process. It is one of the most frequently used remedies in India. Because Ashwaganda has a sedative effect on the central nervous system, it is also used in Chinese medicine for cases of nervousness, insomnia, and rheumatic pains.
It is clear that ashwaganda contains biologically active compounds that are responsible for the healing effects of this herb. However, these compounds have not yet been clearly identified. Nonetheless, this herb is time tested in the eastern cultures and has proven to have many important healing effects. Laboratory studies continue to be done in an effort to more clearly understand this beneficial herb.
Ashwaganda, by itself is an amazing herb with many health benefits. But, in Agel EXO, it represents only a part of the wonderful ensemble of 14 exotic fruits and herbs from around the world.
The Aronia berry is just one of 14 different exotic fruits and herbs contained in Agel EXO that is loaded with these important antioxidants.
Bilberry
As we continue to explore the wonderful health benefits of the 14 different exotic fruits and herbs in Agel EXO, it becomes increasingly more exciting to realize how truly unique it is. Today, let’s explore the bilberry.
Bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) is a shrubby perennial bush that is commonly found in Europe, western Asia and in North America. The bilberry bears edible fruits that are related to the American blueberry, the cranberry and also the huckleberry. In fact, it is commonly called the “European blueberry.”
For centuries, European herbalists have been using the Bilberry to treat a myriad of health related ailments, including urinary tract infections, diarrhea, night blindness, and many others. Of particular interest is the prolific use of the bilberry during World War II when British Royal Air Force pilots noticed a significant improvement in their night vision capabilities after consuming bilberry preserves prior to going out on bombing missions. Subsequent research has shown that bilberries are very powerful antioxidants, and it is in part because of this valuable property that they have such wonderful medicinal capabilities. In modern times, the bilberry has become a very popular nutritional supplement and it has been found helpful in treating various vision related problems, including poor night vision, cataracts and macular degeneration.
Researchers who have looked into the bilberry have identified the anthocyanins which are found abundantly in the bilberry as the substance responsible for most of the medicinal properties of this exotic fruit. Anthocyanins are very potent antioxidants and they appear to play a very important role in maintaining the integrity of our blood vessels, both large and very small. They appear to help prevent atherosclerosis (clogging of the arteries) in many of our vital organs. It is for this reason that they may be so beneficial in preventing heart disease, in helping with visual ailments, and in preventing some of the debilitating consequences of chronic diseases such as diabetes.
The bilberry is just one of 14 different exotic fruits and herbs contained in Agel EXO, each with its own repertoire of health enhancing properties.
Blueberry
The Blueberry (Vaccinium angustifolium) is very closely related to the Bilberry of northern Europe and to the Cranberry of North America. It is one of the few fruits native to North America. It has been used by the native Americans for centuries as a tasty food source and as a medicinal aid. Like it’s relatives, the blueberry is a rich source of the phenolic antioxidant called anthocyanin, as well as potassium, calcium, vitamins A, C, and E, folic acid, and fiber. It is reported by researchers at the USDA Human Nutrition Center (HNRCA) that blueberries have higher antioxidant capacity than 40 other fresh fruits and vegetables.
Recent animal research indicates that blueberries may be beneficial in slowing the process of age-related mental decline, possibly a result of the high antioxidant capacity of the anthocyanins that are so prevalent in this fruit. Also a result of this important compound, blueberries may help reduce the build up LDL (“bad” cholesterol) and thus help prevent heart disease and strokes. Also like its close relative, the bilberry, the blueberry may play a role in improving eyesight and reducing eye strain.
Just like many of the Vaccinium berries (bilberry, cranberry) the blueberry contains another biologically active substance called resveratrol. This compound has been found to suppress tumor cell proliferation and induce apoptosis (programmed tumor cell death) in selected cancer cell lines. Resveratrol also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties as well.
Although the blueberry is not a cure–all, it does contain biologically important substances may help us to live better and healthier lives. It is an important component of Agel EXO, and it contributes synergistically with the other 13 exotic fruits and herbs to create a supplement with exceptional health–enhancing properties.
Cranberry Extract
The North American Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) has a long and distinguished history. Not only has it been a food source, but has been used in ceremonies and for medicinal purposes. Cranberries are packed with nutrients and have been extensively researched. Cranberries have long been the focus of interest for their beneficial effects in preventing urinary tract infections. Cranberries contain proanthocyanidin compounds which prevent bacteria from attaching to the uroepithelial cells in the urinary tract.
Cranberries not only contain antioxidants but have anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory properties as well. Cranberries contain powerful phenolic antioxidants like anthocyanins, specifically it is the quercetin glycosides that provide cranberries with their free radical scavenging and enzyme inhibiting actions. The phenol antioxidants have also been shown to increase HDL (the “good” cholesterol) and reduce the oxidation of LDL (the “bad” cholesterol) potentially decreasing the risk of atherosclerosis. Resveratrol is an anti-cancer compound that is found naturally in cranberries. Resveratrol has been found to suppress tumor cell proliferation and induce apoptosis (programmed tumor cell death) in selected cancer cell lines. Resveratrol also has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties as well.
Cranberries are paced with nutrients and are an excellent source of antioxidants. Agel EXO, users can take advantage of the powerful antioxidant properties along with the benefits of 13 other exotic fruits and herbs from around the world.
Dark Grape
Noni
Noni (Morinda citrifola) is an evergreen plant that is native to Malaysia, Australia, and Polynesia. There is reference to its use as a healing botanical in ancient Sanskrit Ayurvedic (traditional medicine in India) medical texts dating back thousands of years. It has been used to treat many different health disorders over the same period in multiple cultures, and it is only recently that its biologically active components have been identified and its healing properties have been explained.
In the Noni fruit, scientists have identified significant quanities of a precursor (proxeronine) to the pharmacologically active substance called xeronine. The proxeronine is ingested as part of the fruit and is converted to xeronine in the digestive tract and is subsequently absorbed into the body. Xeronine is believed to play a significant role in the proper synthesis and function of proteins that are crucial to the health of each our body’s cells. Generally speaking, this molecule has an influence on multiple organ systems within our bodies and therefore can affect the proper function of multiple cellular processes that all contribute to our overall health. As a result, the list of ailments that have been treated by the Noni fruit for thousands of years is long and comprehensive. For this reason, the noni fruit is considered by some cultures to be a “cure all” for most health related complaints. Certainly, in our sophisticated, technologically advanced society, it is difficult to make that claim. However, it is clear based on millennia of experience that the noni fruit has some important healing properties.
Noni, by itself is an amazing fruit with many health benefits. But, in Agel EXO, it represents only a part of the wonderful ensemble of 14 exotic fruits and herbs from around the world.
Pomegranate
The Pomegranate (Punica granatum) has an extensive history as a medicinal fruit. The first historical evidence of pomegranate trees being planted dates back as far as 3000 BC. It has legendary medicinal properties that have made it the subject of numerous myths, epics and works of art from renowned artists including Raphael, Cezanne, Homer, and even Shakespeare. In multiple regions of the world, this wonderful fruit has been revered as a symbol of health, fertility and of rebirth. It is native to the Middle Eastern region of the world, but through the ages has become a popular agricultural product all over the globe.
The pomegranate fruit is a valuable source of potassium, vitamin C and of polyphenols. It is likely a result of the excellent antioxidant capacity of the polyphenols that the pomegranate has been given such wide acclaim through the ages. As modern day science has demonstrated time and time again, antioxidants are valuable adjuncts to healthy living. They are attributed to the reduction and prevention of coronary artery disease (clogging of the heart vessels), and even the prevention of some of the biological processes that cause cancer and aging.
The pomegranate has a great history as a health-enhancing fruit. And yet, it is but one of the 14 wonderful exotic fruits and herbs that make Agel EXO an outstanding antioxidant gel.
Rooibos
Last week, we highlighted the excellent health benefits of Agel EXO. It is a very effective blend of 14 highly concentrated exotic fruit juices, purees and plant extracts coming from countries across the globe. Individually they have excellent antioxidant capacities, and when combined, the result is an extraordinary antioxidant supplement. This week, we want to explore one of the individual herbs that make up this formulation. Let’s talk about Rooibos.
Rooibos is a shrub that is indigenous to the mountains of South Africa’s Western Cape. More than 300 years ago, the inhabitants of those mountains started collecting Rooibos leaves and used them for making tea. During the past 3 centuries, Rooibos tea has been used in various cultures for many different medicinal purposes. It contains many natural antioxidants, and unlike black tea, it does not contain caffeine and has a very low tannin content. Technically speaking, Rooibos is loaded with polyphenols (flavinoids and phenolic acids). It is, in large part, the high content of these antioxidants that give it the qualities that make it a very useful herb in the treatment of many different ailments. In addition to helping counteract the oxidative stresses of contemporary life, many South African herbalists use it to help curb anxiety and even help with insomnia as it presumably affects the metabolism of one of the brain messengers (acetylcholine). In other cultures, it is used to treat allergies, as it seems to interfere with histamine. In addition, it is used to treat infant colic, as it tends to have anti-spasmodic properties in the intestines.
Roobios is a wonderful herb in its own right. Now, with Agel EXO, we can enjoy its unique antioxidant properties in combination with 13 other fruits and herbs from all around the world.

Lose Weight! Get FIT!!
Statement
Agel FIT is a wonderful component of the initial line-up of Agel products. This weight management aid will be a huge help to those who struggle with “the battle of the bulge.” And, because it is formulated as a gel preparation, it can easily be taken when it is most effective (see below).
We all know that being overweight is a common, frustrating problem for people in all parts of the world, and it would be wonderful if there were a magic pill that would melt away the extra pounds without any physical effort. Unfortunately, there is no “magic bullet”. Let’s face it. Losing weight involves a simple equation; the calories expended must exceed those that are consumed. In other words, we have to ‘eat a little less’ and ‘move a little more’. Now, this equation sounds easy, but the execution of a reasonable diet combined with a regular exercise program maintained over the long-term is sometimes not an easy process. Therefore, many people trying to lose weight will benefit from supplemental support as they face the inevitable obstacles along the way.
So let’s talk about Agel FIT. This great tasting gel can help play a role in this frustrating struggle, without the harmful effects of stimulants. The active ingredient in Agel FIT is a well studied, patent pending form of HCA (hydroxycitric acid), called Super CitriMax™. It comes from the extract of the fruit and rind of Garcinia combogia, and it has been shown in clinical trials to decrease body weight by reducing appetite and inhibiting fat synthesis without stimulating the central nervous system. There are other products on the market that use HCA for weight management, but not all of them contain Super CitriMax™. What makes this form of HCA so good is that it is bound to calcium and potassium, which maximizes its solubility, thereby, increasing its bioavailability. Add that to the fact that it is now suspended in a gel formulation and we have the makings of an awesome weight management aid.
Research has shown that HCA potency, bioavailability, timing of ingestion, and dosage are the essential requirements for optimal results. According to the studies, the Super CitriMax™ works best if it is ingested 30 to 60 minutes prior to eating meals, three times each day. This will allow time for the absorption of the HCA and suppression of appetite. With the convenience of a gel pack, timing the ingestion of this product in the 30 to 60 minute window will be a breeze.
The revolutionary gel technology used to deliver this formulation not only improves the bioavailability of Super CitriMax™, but also offers a convenience factor that can maximize the timing of its ingestion. Although nothing can replace a healthy diet and regular physical activity, Agel FIT will be an excellent addition to a successful weight management program.
Agel FIT Benefits
Agel’s FIT™ gel is a key component in your weight-loss and weight-maintenance goals. Nearly everyone wants to lose weight, reduce body fat and contour arms, abdomen, chest, and legs.
The Opportunity
“I want to lose weight. Now.” “I want my 6-pack abdomen back.” “I want to look good in my swim suit.” “I’ve got to get fit now!!” Ever hear yourself or someone make these comments. Our busy lives often “force” us to eat poorly. No balanced diet. Only processed foods. Eating on the run. These choices have led to an overweight and obesity pandemic that now rivals chronic diseases.
Statistics in the USA are an indicator of problems stemming from overweight and obesity. The prevalence of human overweight and obesity has increased over the years in both genders, for all age groups, for all racial groups and all educational levels. Astonishing overweight and obesity statistics abound for USA citizens. USA males overweight = 69% and females overweight = 62% should be surprising. The percentage of obese adults (BMI ≥ 30): males 28% and females 33%. Surprising? It is still on the rise.
Overweight (BMI > 25.0-29.9) statistics have shown that the 20-34 year old range has been impacted the most in the past 20 years. Males 20-34 years old in the overweight classification increased 139%, while females increased 189%.
Even more alarming over the past 20 years are the increases in obesity (BMI ≥ 30.0) among adults, with male obesity increased 217% and female obesity increased 195%.
The cost of lost productivity related to obesity (BMI ≥ 30) among Americans ages 17-64 is $3.9 billion. Workdays lost related to obesity = 39.3 million, physician office visits related to obesity = 62.7 million workdays, restricted activity days related to obesity: 239.0 million workdays.
The Solution
Agel FIT™ gel and the Agel FIT Switch™ Program can help you, your family, your friends, and your neighbors succeed with weight-loss and physical fitness. FIT contains active levels of (-)hydroxycitric acid (HCA). (-)Hydroxycitric acid acts to turn off two important biochemical “switches” - fatty acid synthesis/storage and glycogen breakdown.
There are hundreds of biological switches functioning every second within your body chemistry. Switches may be flipped “OFF” when there is abundant product concentration from a biochemical reaction. Conversely, a BioSwitch may be turn “ON” when there is abundant starting material for the reaction. These BioSwitches center around the activity of enzymes. Enzymes are helpful proteins that allow biochemical reactions to take place with the lowest input of energy.

Joint Pain? Try FLX!
Statement
Agel™ FLX was formulated to take advantage of 4 fantastic ingredients that have all been found to be very beneficial in the maintenance of healthy joints and maximum flexibility. This formulation is a first, not only because it contains all 4 ingredients, but also because it is delivered in a gel suspension, a remarkable innovation by itself.
Joint pain and immobility associated with osteoarthritis are a problem that is increasing around the world. Tens of millions of people in the United States alone are forced to limit their activity and therefore have a hindered lifestyle as a result of poor joint health. As our population continues to age, this problem will continue to increase and therefore, so will the need to alleviate the cause and the symptoms of this painful and debilitating condition.
Osteoarthritis is the term used to describe joints that have deteriorated and become inflamed as a result of damaged cartilage. The cartilage serves as the cushion at the joint surface, and when it is damaged and worn, it becomes roughened and patchy, sometimes to the point of bone-on-bone friction. These roughened surfaces cause inflammation, subsequent pain, and a decreased range of motion of the joints. Osteoarthritis has many causes, many of them relating to extended use and abuse over the course of many years. In fact, practically everybody has, or will experience some degree of osteoarthritis at some point in their life. But, there are some physical conditions and other predisposing factors that accelerate this process including the following: obesity, poor nutrition, genetics, traumatic injury, and overuse. In fact, some people even develop some degree of joint pain and degeneration by their teenage years.
So, what are the answers to this complex problem? There are many medications available today that address only the symptoms of osteoarthritis. Most of them are known as NSAID’s or Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs. These are more commonly known by the names of Ibuprofen, Naproxen, and Aspirin. There are also some other even more potent medications available, but a physician must prescribe them. Although frequently effective at alleviating the symptoms of osteoarthritis, the NSAID’s all have significant ill-health-related consequences with long-term use. In addition, they don’t address the underlying problem, that being the worn cartilage and damage to the joint itself. In fact, some studies show that these medications accelerate the progression of osteoarthritis.
As a result of the limitations related to the currently available medications for osteoarthritis, there has been significant research done to identify other means of addressing this condition, and better yet of preventing the premature deterioration of the joint cartilage itself. As this research has progressed, there have been some rather remarkable discoveries. Researchers have identified some of the key building blocks in our joints and cartilage and have found naturally occurring sources of them in our environment. By studying the effects of incorporating these components into our diets, scientists have found some wonderful results with regard to the improvement of joint health, and even the slowing of joint degeneration. They have concluded that by orally ingesting some of these compounds that are important factors in the regeneration and maintenance of healthy joints, we can delay the process and even improve the symptoms of osteoarthritis. That is remarkable.
So, what are these compounds that have been found to be so helpful in maintaining healthy joints? There are four that we will address here: Chondroitin, Glucosamine, MSM (MethylSulfonylMethane), and Celadrin (a proprietary combination of cetylated fatty acids). These four ingredients have all been found in clinical trials, individually, to improve joint function and health. They have become a mainstay and a very important ally to those who suffer from joint pain and immobility. What’s more, they have been found to slow down the process of joint deterioration, and are fast becoming a mainstay for all adults who want to maintain healthy joints and active lifestyles.
Wouldn’t it be great if there were a product available that had all 4 of these ingredients in one formulation? What kind of synergy would be present if all 4 of these natural joint health wonders were able to perform together in a single blend?
The Benefits of FLX!
Chondroitin is extracted from shark or bovine cartilage. It is one of the major building blocks used in the formation and repair of the cartilage matrix. Cartilage is the tough, flexible connective tissue that serves as the cushion for the joints and is also found in other parts of the body such as the tip of the nose and outer ears. One of chondroitin’s primary functions as one of the key components in the cartilage matrix is to attract water to the other larger macromolecules within the matrix, thus keeping it soft and flexible. As such, it helps provide the cushion necessary to prevent bone-to-bone contact, especially in the weight bearing joints such as the knees and hips. In addition, the body uses chondroitin to prevent certain enzymes from breaking down the existing cartilage, thus providing a protective effect. The optimum daily dose is 1200 mg.
Glucosamine is produced from crab, lobster and shrimp shells. It is classified as an amino sugar. Unlike other forms of sugar found in the body, this form is incorporated into the structure of body tissues, rather than being used for energy. In fact, the body uses glucosamine to build your fingernails and toenails, tendons, skin, eyes, bones, ligaments and even your heart valves. But, in particular, it is found in high concentrations in your joint tissues and more specifically the cartilage matrix. Glucosamine is one of the components used in the production of Chondroitin, and in fact, it stimulates the body to produce more of this important building block for joint cartilage. As we age, our bodies decrease the natural production of Glucosamine therefore supplementation of this important joint structural component is important. The optimal daily dose is 1500 mg.
In multiple clinical trials, Glucosamine and Chondroitin have been found to work synergistically to help reduce joint degeneration and may in fact help to stimulate the regeneration of damaged cartilage.
MSM (MethylSulfonylMethane) is a naturally occurring organic sulfur compound found in many plant and animal tissues. Sulfur is an essential component of healthy hair, skin, nails, tendons, and joints. It has also been found to help detoxify the body on a cellular level, in addition to relieving pain and inflammation. MSM provides the essential sulfur that is necessary to build strong collagen and therefore strong and healthy cartilage by strengthening the sulfur bonds between the collagen strands. Although MSM is found in many of the foods that we eat, processing and cooking easily destroy it. As a result, MSM is probably not present in significant quantities in the majority of foods that we eat. Most people would probably benefit from supplementation of this crucial element for optimal health.
Celadrin® is a patented blend of cetylated fatty acids (CFA’s) that have been stabilized through a proprietary process of esterifying oils. This blend has been formulated to optimize the natural ability of CFA’s to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation in human tissues. In addition, the CFA’s in Celadrin® have the effect of increased joint lubrication. The prime role of Celadrin® appears to be its ability to enhance cell membrane health and integrity. As a result it halts the production of inflammatory compounds known as prostaglandins. It also reduces the production of the negative immune factors like IL-6 that also play a central role in inflammation. The body is made up of an enormous number of cells separated into various types and functions. The cell membrane is the organized structure that separates and protects components in the cell from neighboring cells and the outside world. Some of the major components of the cell membrane are structural lipids, which regulate nutrients and other compounds across the cell membrane. This regulation is very critical to the adequate function and health of the individual cell. Celadrin® enhances the cell membrane and its integrity for efficient functionality. The result is a more efficient, fluid, permeable and a youthful cell membrane. Loss of cell membrane integrity from internal and external stressors begins a number of rapid aging processes – including uncontrolled or imbalanced inflammation. Inflammation can occur with age, dietary conditions, free radicals, stress or other insults which stimulate or stiffen cell membranes. This could lead to one or more forms of joint inflammation. Celadrin® not only halts the cascade of inflammation but rapidly begins restoring flexibility and eliminating pain. Celadrin® accomplishes these features by enhancing the lipid structure of the cell membrane and converting it to a super membrane enabling the cells to rapidly repair and regenerate. This unique enhancement of the cell membrane leads to the multitude of restorative, healing attributes of Celadrin® - including arthritis and inflammatory conditions.
In simple terms, Celadrin® improves the lubrication of joints and prevents the manufacture of compounds that produce pain and inflammation.
1) Can Celadrin® be used with glucosamine sulfate and other natural approaches for osteoarthritis?Absolutely, Celadrin’s® unique mechanisms of action complement any natural or drug therapy for osteoarthritis safely and without side effect.
2) How does Celadrin® compare to CMO (cetylmyristoleate)?CMO is simply one of the components of the unique matrix of Celadrin®. Researchers discovered the mixture was more effective than the isolated CMO. Hence, Celadrin® can be simply regarded as an enhanced form of CMO.
3) Is there any difference between the various oral forms of Celadrin®?The product has previously been available in tablets, soft gelatin, and hard gelatin capsules. Since Celadrin® is a fatty acid complex, softgel capsules may provide advantages in absorption, just as with other lipid-loving molecues (e.g. CoQ10). As well, the published clinical trials utilized Celadrin® in a softgel form.
4) Is Celadrin® safe? The safety profile is exceptional with no reported side effects or drug interactions. Celadrin® definitely does not have any of the side effects associated with anti-inflammatory drugs such as Steroids, NSAIDS (e.g. aspirin), and COX 2 inhibitors (e.g. Vioxx, Celebrex).
5) Can Celadrin® be used on a long-term basis?Absolutely, Celadrin® is completely safe for indefinite use without side effect. Are there any interactions with prescription drugs? There is no indication or known mechanism where Celadrin® would cause an adverse interaction with any medication.

What Are the Ultimate Home-Based Business Tax Advantages?
One of the great things about starting a business from home is the tremendous tax advantage they provide. Just think, when April comes around again, you will be rejoicing instead of crying! So, let's see exactly what the tax advantages are for your home based business.
First of all, in any home business you have tremendous more tax advantages than if you were self-employed. These advantages really become huge when you consider how you can improve the profitability of your home business by declaring all of the deductions you are entitled to. Never forget to claim all of the necessary deductions. If you have difficulty figuring it out, go to a CPA.
You will also need to itemize your deductions for your home business operation on a separate schedule just as you would for your personal deductions. Knowing which deductions you are entitled to can save your home business hundreds of dollars a year. Isn't this great news? Just the tax advantages make starting a home-based business makes it worth it.
Here is some background information on how your income tax amount is arrived at by the IRS.
The U.S. taxation code states that almost all income is subject to federal income tax. How can you, the guru of your home-based business, arrive at the final amount of income tax? Here's how:
Gross Income - (All Expenses + Miscellaneous Deductions + Depreciation on Assets) = Taxable Income.
Taxable Income X (Your Tax Rate) = Income tax for the fiscal year.
Here is a quick definition of the terms in the above taxation equation:
Gross Income = The total of all income for the year after the cost of the inventory has been paid for. Make sure you leave nothing out.
Expenses = All costs of doing business during the fiscal tax year. Examples include payroll, materials, supplies and interest on business loans, etc. To find out if an expense qualifies as a legitimate business expense, consult your CPA. You can also call your local small business bureau, or even the IRS.
Depreciation = This is the way of spreading out the deductibility of an asset over a period of more than one year.
The IRS has certain different depreciation schedules for different business property. This is done for assets like real estate, equipment and other assets with a long economic life. This method of taxation write-off has certain advantages. Be sure to talk to your accountant regarding proper depreciation rules. These rules are subject to change by the Congress and the IRS.
Miscellaneous Deductions:
This is an often misunderstood and overlooked way to save a lot of money on taxes. Remember that these types of expenses must be totaled up and declared on a separate schedule of your income tax forms.
Always track your expenses and be sure to save at least one copy of every deduction. You will be asked for proof of every transaction that is declared as a deduction if the IRS audits you! Never make the mistake of not keeping records of yAlso, save them for 7 years.
Here is a list of some of the things you can deduct from your income taxes:
Business related expenses include:
1. Air fares 2. Auto expenses 3. Books and Magazines 4. Educational Expenses 5. Home Office Space* + a portion of utilities, telephone, and maintenance costs 6. Office Furniture 7. Cleaning Expenses 8. Meals with Business Clients 9. Laundry Expenses (When Traveling) 10. Advertising 11. Impairment-related Expenses 12. Licenses and Regulatory Fees
* If you own your home you must use the IRS depreciation rules to determine this deduction. If you rent you may also deduct a portion of your rent.
Check IRS Publication 535 to find out if you can deduct any or all of the above.
As you can see there are numerous deductions that are allowable for your home-based business. The best way to get more information on tax deductions and related information on income taxes is to go online to www.irs.gov. There you will find a helpful search engine containing thousands of government publications that you can research and print out if you need to.
Now you have a good idea of the deductions you are entitled to take. So do your research, keep track of your expenses and take all of the deductions you can for maximum profit every year. April will never be a time again for weeping and gnashing of teeth!
